Neil Phillips - Managing Director.

I'm Neil Phillips, owner of Heart of England Narrowboats. My passion for boats started when I was just 7 years old when my parents took me away on the Norfolk Broads, since that first trip I have progressed to living on narrowboats for a number of years and also qualified as an RYA Yacht master cruising instructor. I have over 15000 miles of sailing under my belt and to this day I still love every moment I spend on board any type of boat. As I approach retirement, I knew I had to get directly involved in our wonderful canal systems and Heart of England was set up at initially at a base in Tamworth. My passion for quality is your guarantee that our boats will always be of the highest quality and presented fully equipped for you to enjoy your time on board to the maximum.

I'm proud to say that we have gone from strength to strength and are now located at our own marina at Hinksford Wharf, Hinksford on the beautiful and enchanting Staffordshire and Worcester Canal. We can offer many cruising routes including some of the most well known and popular Stourport and Black Country Rings, for a longer break, the Warwickshire and Four Counties rings and for a gentle meander, a nice short break to Stourport-Upon-Severn.

See our route suggestions for more ideas.

Rob Coop - Operations Manager.

Like Neil, I fell in love with boats at the age of 7 when we went to the Norfolk Broads on holiday. We usually went twice a year and I have spent many a happy hour fishing, sailing or simply enjoying boat life. I learnt to sail quite young and in later life was given the privilege of competing in several offshore sailing races including the Fastnet. We operated with a smaller than average crew meaning that all our races were tough but the positive rewards and feeling of personal and team achievement totally outweighed the negatives. In later life I moved from the sea onto the inland waterways to enjoy a slower pace of life and become more involved with the inland scene as an engineer, trainer and renovator. I purchased my own boat and made the decision to become a full time liveaboard single handing my boat around the network.

I now maintain the Heart of England fleet and look after the day to day running of the business. It is generally me that you will deal with when preparing for your holiday. I will always do my best to provide you with quality information and a high standard of training. Whether you are new to boating or a seasoned pro; in my mind, there is always something to learn.

I look forward to speaking to you and welcoming you onboard your Heart of England Narrowboat.
